Sixth Grade Monster Math
Sixth graders put their "monster making" skills to the test during a recent unit on fractions. Using
fractional pieces of pie shaped fraction tiles, the students designed colorful "Fraction Monsters". Once
their creations were drawn and colored the students named their monster by calculating its value. During an exciting math game sixth
graders totaled the fractional pieces of their classmates' monsters in order to determine each monster's name.
What a neat way to learn operating with fractions!
